What People Say

Mark Farmer

"There's been a void to date in terms of having a singular event that brings all parts of the Scottish construction industry together. There's various niche events that happen during the calendar year, and I think that having the Scottish Construction Summit, which brings all parts of the stakeholder map together, is really, really powerful and overdue."

Mark Farmer

Founder & Board Executive, Cast Consultancy

Alan Smith

"This is an inaugural event in Scotland. Nothing like this has happened for ten years that I know of, so being here, bringing the thought processes, the innovative speakers together, in one room, to promote change- things have got to change, things have got to improve, to benefit not only the clients, but the contractors and throughout the supply chain."

Alan Smith

Managing Director, SPI Piling

Helen McMillan

"You need to look at your business holistically, and you're going to find that out if you come to one of these events, because there are so many diverse opinions, there are so many people that can come in, not just from within the construction industry, but actually get an outside fresh pair of eyes looking at what you're doing is invaluable to moving your business forward."

Helen McMillan

Client Experience Director, Valorem First

Jamie Gray

"We need to drive the industry forward, we need to collaborate, we need to talk to each other, and this is a perfect platform- It's probably the first platform that's doing that in the Scottish sector for many many years, so it is really really important that people get involved with that."

Jamie Gray

Dalux

Jocelyn Fleming

"I think there are lots of great ideas... to me the essential element is always: when we collaborate we are better. So I'm hoping that this fosters a lot of different links and connections between people and ideas, and hopefully we all come away with sort of a renewed passion for the industry that we represent."

Jocelyn Fleming

Senior Policy & Public Affairs Officer, The Chartered Institute of Building

Peter Reekie

"Quite a lot of the action happens around the sidelines of these things, doesn't it? So having a focused conversation about the things that matter in the industry, bringing industry leaders together, with a positive vision for the future and a purpose, I think is so important."

Peter Reekie

Chief Executive, Scottish Futures Trust

What to Expect

Summit 2026 Background

Larger Venue, More Opportunities

Building on the success of the inaugural 2025 event, the Scottish Construction Summit 2026 is undergoing a massive transformation. Following the "perfect storm" of industry challenges discussed in 2025—including labor shortages and razor-thin commercial margins—the Summit is scaling up to provide the industry with the space and tools needed to build a more resilient future.

For 2026, the Summit moves from the University of Strathclyde to Hall 5 of the Scottish Event Campus (SEC). This transition marks a significant leap in scale, with the event expected to be three to four times larger than the previous year. This allows for an expanded exhibition floor, more speakers, and unrivaled networking throughout the venue.

Future Talent Hub

The Future Talent Hub is a new addition for 2026, created to address critical workforce challenges identified during the 2025 Summit. With statistics revealing a high percentage of experienced workers nearing retirement and a widening skills gap, the construction industry faces a dual threat to its long-term stability. This hub serves as a proactive solution, providing a dedicated space to connect the next generation of professionals with the leaders shaping Scotland’s built environment.

Scottish Housing Summit 2026

Launching in 2026 in partnership with Scottish Housing News, the Scottish Housing Summit acts as a central hub for social and affordable housing stakeholders. This initiative was born from the strong participation of housing associations at previous events and focuses on the sector's vital role in meeting Scotland’s national housing needs. It is designed as a collaborative platform for those navigating the complexities of modern housing delivery.
